67th Primetime Emmys Nominations Predictions: May Update

A lot has changed since my last update for Emmy predictions.  The biggest news was that Orange is the New Black is now considered a drama.  That move will certainly cost it a few nominations in the much more dense field of drama contenders, but it may actually help it win some of the big categories where there isn’t a clear frontrunner like Modern Family is on the comedy side.  Elsewhere, Empire caught fire with viewers and that may be enough to make it a contender and actors like Jonathan Banks and Ben Mendelsohn also launched themselves into Emmys radar with highly acclaimed performances.  With the TV season coming to an end at the end of this month, the field is finally starting to take shape.
